ColdPreserv Medium Usage and Hypothermic Preservation Protocol:

  1. ColdPreserv Medium is a ready-to-use solution. Do not add any additives to this medium.
  2. Following the isolation and clean-up of the primary cells, place the cells into 0°C to 4°C ColdPreserv Medium at a density of 1-3 × 106 cells/mL. Place the cells into a 4°C refrigerator or onto wet ice for storage.
  3. It is recommended to allow the cells to recover in ColdPreserv Medium for at least 60 minutes prior to counting or freezing. The cold incubation allows time for the cells to repair damage incurred during the isolation process and can result in an increase in viability.
  4. The cells should be placed into a flat-bottom vessel (not conical) during storage to prevent the cells from piling onto one another.
  5. If freezing, the cells should be spun out of ColdPreserv Medium and frozen within 24 hours.
